Our travel group all had Thanksgiving dinner together as a big Jiangxi family. We have a youth pastor on the trip with us and he said grace, then we went to dig in. Let say, it's not the Thanksgiving dinner I am used to having. Yes, there was a turkey and cranberry dressing (which was delicious) but that's where the similarities end. How about braised intestines, fried rice, duck and sushi? There were plenty of choices and it was presented very nicely, but no mashed potatoes, no stuffing and no gravy. And for dessert? A beautiful looking pumpkin torte that was pumpkin with no sugar or spices, so no pumpkin pie either! It was nice tpo have dinner all together with all the new moms and daddies and of course, the little girls!
