Overdue

For as many years as I have worked in labor and delivery and heard women complain about being overdue (I am only about a day overdue). I never really understood how they felt. You get attached to a day (in my case, the 21st, cited as the most likely day for referrals to arrive by the rumor sites) and when that day comes and goes, it is a real let-down. People call/email asking if you have "delivered" yet and I have to answer by saying, "we are still waiting" and "maybe tomorrow." I just hope the delivery comes by Thursday so we get a call this week. If they arrive on Friday, we have to wait the weekend to get "the call." Here's hoping for tomorrow!
