Happy Independence Day and 7 months since we came home!

I missed our 7 month anniversary of family day. It came and went on June 22nd. That must be an indication that we are very settled in and the months just fly by with our little Leilani. I did remember this was the day we came home 7 months ago, jet lagged with a tired, over stimulated girl, full of personality and joy and our lives have never been the same.
She has managed to learn English, completely understanding what we say, but not yet talking in complete sentences. Her new words come every day, we have to look at each other and say "did she just say..." Her motor skills have developed rapidly and she is quite a little gymnast. She loves the pool, baths, watermelon, shrimp chips, chicken strips and lately, giving hugs to other kids in the gym and the park.
She is a little actress, totally aware of her surroundings, who is watching and their reactions. She loves praise for accomplishments, like using a fork for the first time. She squeals and laughs frequently.
It is amazing how quickly she has assimilated into our family and has become an all-American girl.
We are grateful this Independence day for the freedom we have in this great country to worship as we please, to express our opinions freely and to pursue our dreams. We are thankful to all the individuals who have fought and died for us. May we always remember how blessed we are to live in the USA!
