Celebrating 9 months as a family

In a couple of days we will be celebrating 9 months as a family. In many ways, it feels longer than that, like she has always been here. She is such an adaptable child, she just comes into any situation, flashes that smile and melts everyone’s heart. She is sweet , blowing kisses to everyone. She is smart, recognizing places we go when we pull into the parking lot and remembering routines at the gym. She is energetic, constantly moving and dancing. We are blessed beyond our wildest imagination and we are grateful we were chosen to be her parents.
She has gained 7 pounds and 4 inches in height. While she is still on the small side, she has a huge personality. Watermelon is still her favorite food, with shrimp chips a close second. She enjoys noodles of all kinds, pizza and chicken strips. In the past month she has tried a bunch of new things including vanilla pudding and peanut butter.
Her vocabulary continues to grow, she adds new words almost daily; shoes, house, bubble, balloon, chips, stuck, side and puppy just to name a few. She has still to make a full sentence, but she understand everything we say and carries out commands.
Summer has been a fun time with a lot of trips to the park, swimming in the pool, playing at the gym and Funtastic as well as a special trip to Funderland, a small amusement park for ages 2-5 years old. She loved all the rides, especially the carousel. It is really a joy to see her have fun, she is so expressive. We had to decide when she was too tired to continue, because if it was up to her, she would ride until she fell over from exhaustion.
For the Fall, she will start gymnastics. She has incredible balance and a fearless nature, a good combination for a gymnast.
I love being her mom and she WAS worth the wait!
