It's 38 months since we logged in, my friend Kelly, who shares my LID, sent me this interesting piece of trivia:
I found out that I have something in common with an Alpine black salamander. Who would have known?? The animal with the longest gestation period is not a mammal; it is the viviparous amphibian the Alpine black salamander, which can have a gestation period of up to 38 months at altitudes above 4,600 feet (1,402 meters) in the Swiss alps.
So, while I thought I had passed every animal for gestation during this wait, there is one little animal that has to wait as long as we have been waiting, I hope we are done soon!
