When non-adoption folks hear that, they get all excited and say "only another month or so and you will see her!" I then have to let them know that 38 days can be short, or exceptionally long depending on the LID numbers ahead of you. Some days have more people logged in than others. Take, for instance March 7th, 2006. I think this is one of the larger days I have ever seen in this wait. That single day may be the only day referred for the month. Just as an example, when we were LID on 3/27/06, there was a backlog of 301 LID days. We have widdled it down to 38 days, but now there are 997 LID's of backlog! I can't imagine how long that wait might be, but the wait is unpredicatable at best. We will celebrate the holidays, enjoy lounging around on Sunday mornings and go on our last (I know we have said that for three years...) childless vacation. Thanksgiving is our 32 month LID-iversary, so happy both to us! I am ready for 2009....I am sure my friends in this wait are ready too...
