You are asking yourself….what does that mean??? The review room is where a person in China at the CCAA combs over your dossier and makes sure everything is in order. They can approve your dossier as submitted, ask for clarification, additional information or deny your dossier. In the case of the review room, no news is good news. If the reviewer in China needs more information, updates or has questions, they contact the adoption agency here in the US and they in turn contact you for clarification. If you are denied, your agency will try and advocate for you, but China has the ultimate say on whether you qualify to adopt. We were not contacted for any additional information, that is great because it means our dossier was prepared correctly and met all the qualifications. Now we move down the hall, to a large stack of dossiers waiting for a match with a child. In our case, there are 154 LID days ahead of us, for the past 4 months on average, CCAA has matched about 16 days each month. At that rate…we have about 9-10 more months to wait…that is either Christmas or early 2008. We can hope for a speed-up, but it doesn’t seem the current rate will change much. Now that we are safely through the review room, I can live with the wait. We still have a lot of projects to do!
